Materials and Finishes

Material choice drives your retail price point, your target customer, and your brand perception. Here's how the options break down.

Brass with gold/silver/rose gold plating is the most common starting point. It's affordable, versatile, and achieves a convincing precious-metal look. Most fashion jewelry brands at the $15–40 retail tier use this.

Sterling silver (925) gives you the "real silver" label that justifies a higher price point. It tarnishes over time unless treated with rhodium plating or anti-tarnish coating — both of which we offer.

Stainless steel works well for men's jewelry, industrial aesthetics, and pieces that need extreme durability. It's hypoallergenic and holds up to daily wear without any surface treatment.

Gold-filled and vermeil sit in the mid-to-premium range for brands that want to position above plated but below solid gold. Gold-filled is mechanically bonded and lasts years. Vermeil is thick gold plating over sterling silver — a favorite among DTC brands.

We don't push one material over another. It depends entirely on your retail price target and brand positioning.

Every customer will enjoy the same service

Here’s what launching a custom jewelry line actually looks like for most small brands: you find a manufacturer on Alibaba, send an inquiry, wait a week for a reply, and then get told the minimum order is 500 pieces per design. You haven’t even finished your mood board yet.

That story plays out thousands of times a month. And it’s the reason so many promising jewelry brands stall before they ever get started.

Boochu works differently. We’re a custom jewelry supplier built around the reality of how emerging brands actually operate — tight budgets, evolving ideas, and a need to test before committing big. Our MOQs start low enough that you can order a small batch, sell through it, and reorder what works. No bloated inventory. No guessing.

If you’re running a boutique, a Shopify store, a gift shop, or a brand that’s still finding its footing — we’ve got the setup to support that.

What "Custom" Actually Means at Boochu

Let’s be blunt: “custom jewelry” gets thrown around loosely. Some suppliers mean “pick from our catalog and we’ll stamp your logo on it.” Others mean full bespoke development with a 12-week lead time and $2,000 in tooling costs upfront.

We sit in a practical middle ground.

You can start with a sketch on a napkin, a Pinterest board, or a competitor’s product you’d like to rework. Our team turns that into a production-ready concept — refining proportions, suggesting materials, and flagging anything that’ll cause problems during manufacturing. You don’t need a finished CAD file or a tech pack to get the conversation started.

Depending on the complexity, custom jewelry design at Boochu can range from a simple surface finish tweak on an existing base to a ground-up 3D-modeled piece. Both are fine. Both happen regularly.

Product Range — From Necklaces to Pins and Everything Between

Boochu covers the full spread of jewelry categories that B2B buyers typically need. That means you won’t have to juggle three different factories to fill out a collection.

Here's what we work with regularly:

Beyond the core categories, we handle custom tie clips, logo jewelry for corporate merchandise, and packaging design including custom earring cards and jewelry boxes. One supplier. One point of contact.

  • Necklaces — pendant, name, charm, chain-only, layered, and choker styles
  • Bracelets — charm bracelets, name bracelets, bangles, cuffs, beaded
  • Earrings — studs, hoops, huggies, drops, ear cuffs
  • Pins — enamel pins, lapel pins, logo pins, button pins
  • Charms & chains — standalone charms, chain components, extension chains

Why Emerging Brands Keep Coming Back

Low MOQs That Actually Make Sense

Most factories set minimums at 300–500 per SKU because their production lines aren't set up for small runs. Ours are. You'll get competitive unit pricing even on orders that other suppliers would turn away.

For a brand testing its first three necklace designs, ordering 50 of each shouldn't mean paying a ridiculous premium. It doesn't here.

Pricing With Real Wholesale Margins

We structure pricing so that your wholesale cost still leaves room for a healthy retail markup — typically 3x to 5x depending on material and complexity. A gold-plated pendant that costs you $4 at wholesale can retail for $18–25. Sterling silver pieces with a $12 cost wholesale sit comfortably at $45–80 retail.

These aren't aspirational numbers. They're the actual margins our buyers work with.

A Process That Bends When You Need It To

Here's something that surprises a lot of first-time buyers: the design doesn't need to be locked before we start. You can adjust finishes, swap out chain types, or tweak dimensions after seeing the first sample. We don't charge for minor revisions during development — because locking in a design too early usually leads to a product nobody's happy with.

Our Process

How It Works — From Concept to Carton

01

Share your idea

Send us whatever you've got: a rough sketch, reference photos, a written description, a mood board. We'll work with it.

02

We build a quote and concept

Within 2–3 business days, you'll get a detailed quote with material options, estimated timelines, and a preliminary design direction. No commitment at this stage.

03

Sample development

We produce a physical sample. Turnaround is typically 7–14 days depending on complexity. You review it, request changes if needed, and approve the final version.

04

Production

Once the sample is approved, bulk production begins. Timelines range from 2–4 weeks for standard orders.

05

Quality check and shipping

Every order goes through inspection before it ships. We photograph finished batches so you can confirm before it leaves the facility. Simple. And more importantly, each step happens on a timeline you can actually plan around.

Who We Work With

You won't find us chasing after individual consumers looking for a single anniversary pendant. Our entire operation is geared toward volume buyers with repeat-order potential.

That means boutique owners stocking their shelves with exclusive pieces. Gift shop operators building themed collections — bridesmaid sets, birthstone series, holiday gifting lines. Online sellers running Shopify or Etsy stores who need branded inventory they can't find on Amazon. Brand founders who've graduated past reselling and want their own product with their own look.

We also work with corporate purchasers who need custom logo jewelry or branded accessories for events, employee recognition, and client gifts.

If you're ordering for resale, gifting programs, or brand merchandise — you're in the right place.

Let's Build Your Next Collection

You’ve got the brand vision. We’ve got the manufacturing chops and the flexibility to make it real — at a price that leaves room for profit.

No minimum commitment to start a conversation. Send us your idea, and we’ll come back with a quote and timeline within 48 hours.

Frequently Asked Questions

Practical answers before you get in touch.

Do I need a complete design to get started?
+

No. Most of our projects start from rough concepts — a mood board, a reference image, a hand-drawn sketch. Our design team handles the technical translation. You'll review and approve a production-ready design before anything goes to manufacturing.

What's the minimum order quantity?
+

It varies by product type, but we keep MOQs low enough to support small brands and test runs. Typical minimums range from 50–100 pieces per design, depending on the complexity and materials involved. That's significantly below the industry standard.

How long does the whole process take?
+

From first inquiry to delivered goods, most orders take 4–6 weeks total. That includes sample development (1–2 weeks), production (2–4 weeks), and shipping. Rush options are available if you're working against a launch date.

Do you ship internationally?
+

Yes. Boochu supports global delivery for international buyers.

What if I want to change something after seeing the sample?
+

That's exactly what the sample stage is for. Minor adjustments — finish, size, chain length, clasp type — don't restart the clock or add charges. Significant design changes may require a new sample round, but we'll always tell you upfront what's involved.
